I decided this when i was a preteen reading Death Note yaoi on FFN and i still stand by it now- there is absolutely no reason to have a sex scene that goes on for more than one chapter. If you’re thinking that you’re the exception to that rule- no, you are not, in a decade of reading Internet porn, i have never seen a sex scene that was good and went on for more than a chapter. Even when the sex scene started out good, by the end, i was universally just mentally begging for them to be over.
Because here’s the thing. Once you say “why not, we can make this sex scene two chapters long”, that just makes it easier for you to go “okay, but why not THREE chapters” or “why not FOUR chapters” and then that’s the slippery slope to making seven straight chapters of L and Light banging while babby M is sitting at the family computer skimming them trying to figure out if anything plot-relevant happens! You are not special! I don’t know of any sex scene that legitimately NEEDS to be seven fucking chapters long and at that point you’re just fucking padding!
