There comes a time when an otaku must ask themselves: was the battle harem magic school monster girl ecchi of my pre-teen and teen years truly better than the tripe of today, or was I just a horny thirteen-year-old?

I didn't watch battle harem magic school monster girl ecchi as a teenager, but I do feel this way about music. I don't think music is objectively worse today than it was twenty years ago... it's just that twenty years ago I was in a state where angsty music felt more relatable.

I maintain that books have gotten worse though. Not because writers lost the ability to write but because the publishing industry is cutting as many corners as possible and the final product is far less polished.
