A hard thing for me as a person who A: writes fanfiction B: does not believe in the concept of inherently evil people and C: is a stickler for keeping their characterization as close to canon as possible, is that a lot of authors do believe in the concept of inherently evil people.

(this is about dio brando right now, but it's also about muzan kibutsuji. and douma. fuck i disagree with gotouge's approach to morality in fiction.)

Maybe it's because I have the selfshipper disease but I see this a lot with Legato, but in a more pitying way because everyone just sees him as a permavictim. The way so many people write him (especially in the context of Millionsummers) just screams with "if you were ever raped or sexually abused then you are forever broken and you will always be miserable so you should just do yourself a favor and kill yourself!" Everyone forgets that he has an actual personality cause they didn't actually read trimax.

Nice to see someone else complain about Gotouge. His attitude seems to be “if you’ve done bad things, die and hope to reincarnate as someone who doesn’t do bad things.”
