there’s something I’ve started calling the horseshoe theory of perversion, and it basically means that obsessive hyper-perverts (like myself) and people who are very Against Perversion seem to have the same miraculous ability to find perversion in things where “normal people” don’t.

anyway if you interpret “these teenagers are being lovey-dovey” as “these teenagers are fucking like rabbits”…

(either that or those words have different connotations to different people.)

Yeah, 100%. I have SO OFTEN seen the antishipping/purity police crowd find incest and pedophilia in things that are, to a "normal" audience clearly like... typical human interaction.

Yeah, and it’s not just them either- what actually (somewhat) inspired this theory was that video that was a dramatic reading of the stupidest comments Alex Hirsh got from Disney S&P, and so many of them were “this could possibly be interpreted as a Weird Sex Thing” and Hirsch going “what the fuck is wrong with you people”.

Good lord I read a few of those and what the FUCK are Disney thinking? Hey, remember how children's media used to be FULL of covert references to sex so that the parents watching along could get a chuckle out of it?
