Two Driftloon Headcanons
May. 13th, 2020 06:54 pmHeadcanon Number One: The Drif-family are carnivorous. They mostly hunt by picking up unfortunate Pokemon and dropping them from great heights, letting the power of gravity do the rest. The whole "The Drif-family carries people off but We Don't Know Where They Go" is a combination of sensationalized news reporting and the Pokedex trying to sanitize things for the (presumably) younger player character(s).
Headcanon Number Two: Drifblim reproduce with an egg case, which is usually shaped like a cylinder with a pointed tip with 7-9 offspring at a time contained inside one case. The Drifloon inside occasionally partake in cannibalism of their unborn siblings, and when they're ready to hatch, they squeeze out of the pointed tip before taking in air and inflating for the first time. Drif-family breeders should be reminded that a failure to inflate 10 minutes after hatching is a severe medical condition.
