I can emotionally handle writing basically every chunk of the Trans Experience that might be upsetting or harrowing for some people except for Pronoun Discussions. good god i hate writing Pronoun Discussions. thank god that i mostly write fic for weebshit fandoms, where i can go "these characters are, because they are japanese, probably speaking in japanese, despite me writing in english. japanese rarely uses gendered third-person pronouns, so Pronoun Discussions would not make sense in these circumstances." and seem Cool and Cultured and like i've Thought About It

god help me if i ever have to write something where the characters would logically be speaking english/another language where gendered third-person pronouns are commonly used. how will i get out of writing Pronoun Discussions then?

Honestly same, there's just no way for me to contend with it without sounding silly. I'll write a pronoun correction scene but I don't think about gender in language and I prefer to keep it that way.

I once wrote a story where each of the perspective characters had a different way of using gendered pronouns. I asked my beta reader if there was a way to make that clearer. She told me to learn to write in Pinyin.
