This is exactly what it says on the title. I've been wanting to write this one for a while, and I've finally gotten around to doing it.

Trying to explain why I don't like certain kinds of Supernaturally Validated Trans Person stories. Stick with me here.

Okay, so the ones that I do like, or at least I'm okay with, are the ones that star trans people who already know they're trans, like, I think the SVTP moments in School Mermaid/Magical Girl Site were fine (and the one in magical girl site was pretty subtle) and there was one Furuba fic that I really liked with trans girl Ritsu that basically centered around a SVTP moment, but anyway, I'm getting off track.

The ones that I don't like are ones where the Supernaturally Validated Trans Person doesn't know that they're trans and it's the Supernatural Validator, like, reading their soul and telling them "you are A Girl". That just freaks me out.

> Enstars falls victim to the Villains Act Heroes React mode of storytelling, and i'm a bitch for characters with ideology and agency.

> One of the main things that makes Enstars writing charming to me is how much it Takes Itself Seriously, and as a side mode of this, Eichi's monologues are where this aspect of Enstars writing gets to shine at its brightest and most appealing to me.

Just, like, aggressively spitballing here, but I'm wondering if stricter T/B name order tagging practices could have helped avoid some of the worst Disk Horse that came out of the Old Guard Fandom.

Disclaimer:: I am not and never was part of that fandom, all of the drama I heard about was just second or third-hand, I would appreciate further thoughts from people who were actually there for that Disk Horse.

I generally think that it's okay to have rules about what is and isn't morally okay that aren't "does this hurt people", however, i don't think it's okay when those rules override the "does this hurt people"*.

As a related point, while in the abstract "is it okay to do a small amount of harm to someone in order to prevent a greater harm from happening later" is a question I'd probably say "yes" to, this does not apply when the small harm is definite and concrete (making people feel bad over their lack of religiosity/porn preferences) and the "greater harm" is abstract and far-off or straight up just fake bullshit (the atheist eventually going to Hell, OP's porn preferences increasing the amount of sexism in the world and subsequently making more women unhappy in the future)

(For a definition of "hurt" that includes emotional damage, that is)

sometimes i see Well-Intentioned Cis Proships talking about how weird it is that so many anti-fujos are transmasc, considering how antifujo talking points are being used by legit straight-up terfs so frequently these days

TL;DR: it's the truscums' fault.
