One thing I've noticed about Kpop fics is that they all share the same problem of having Too Many Goddamn Main Characters.

Seven to twelve main characters, all of which share the same amount of plot relevance and in-depth backstory, is just too many people for anyone to care about and keep track of.

This is actually the very reason my sister can't get into Game of Thrones. I kind of get it, the series would actually be better if they picked several characters and followed their story. But then, you don't connect to characters in the same way. (That being said, there's a chapter from the perspective of a Prince Doran's guard).

Anyway, perhaps Game of Thrones is putting bad ideas into fanfiction writers heads? George RR Martin can't really handle it, an amateur writer probably shouldn't try.

I was moreso vaguing about a fic I was following that involved seven main characters, each having very in-depth backstories, and just introduced seven more characters who all seem to be shaping up to be a very big part of the narrative going forward.
