out of all the jrock transfic i've read, there is precisely one fic (an nb!mana/kami fic) that i actually liked, and one (trans woman!kaya/issay) that i did not hate.

all of the others are utterly atrocious

And this is why I don't write transfic. I just don't know enough about the subject matter to feel I can write anything focusing on this. Perhaps a side character.

And I say this as someone who frequently watches a youtuber talking about his trans issues which I believe gives me more knowledge than most people writing trans fic who are not trans themselves. Which isn't to say I know a lot, only that they know very little.
