this might be spiteful and dickish of me, but any time i see someone talking about "fetishizing trans people" and they're not talking about, like, creeps crawling into trans women's DMs or the "we'll jerk off to you but won't give you rights" phenomenon, i immediately disregard anything they have to say.

the amount of time i have heard "fetishizing trans people" used as a code word for "daring to be genderweird and horny on the internet" or "being an egg exploring concepts related to gender in a non-PC way" has totally eclipsed the amount of times i've seen it used to describe actual instances where real people were hurt that every time i see it used it just makes my brain turn to mush.
