If you mean metal as in the music genre, the answer is Nazis. Being around Nazis does things to your morality and your psyche.

I mean, I'd buy that, but I've also witnessed New and Exciting Types Of Fandombrain (derogatory) in fandoms for Japanese metal, which. Regardless of all other bigotries exhibited by visual kei fans, I don't think that Nazis would be super into Foreign Metal (full of effeminate-by-Western-standards dudes who make out on stage for their fans' amusement)

Alt-right has a real thing for metal and like their less troublesome neocon and neolib cousins, they will knot themselves in interesting ways to overlook things as long as they think they can make use of a subgroup. Which is how you get Log Cabin Republicans, for example.

i think some of it is that people get especially weird about RL people that they're fannish about, bc i've never seen fandoms half as weird (derogatory) as bandom fandoms in general but like in the same way people get about youtubers these days.

but i also mostly steer clear of those so i can't speak to metal in particular. there is not enough explosions in "people who make music" to hold my interest LOL
