there are two wolves inside of you
one says "even setting aside the ethical problems with modern-day animal ag, i still think that eating certain highly intelligent animals, such as octopus, is uniquely unethical such that i don't feel comfortable doing it"
the other says "but i really want to know what takoyaki tastes like, tho"

Date: 2022-11-18 09:55 pm (UTC)If you really want to know more specifically ... octopus has a light, slightly salty flavor and when cooked right, a squishy, very slightly rubbery texture - the texture is more likely to put people off than the flavor, which is really quite mild imo - with the dough being not unlike pancake, but not sweetened. Last time I had any, it was with a soy-ponzu sauce, but I think the more common sauce is Japanese mayo? It's been awhile, though.
