Sometimes I wonder what goes through these people's heads.

Do they not consider that a couple of stray clicks might lead the band to see their porny memes?

Do they just not care?

Do they believe that someone seeing RPF fanedits of themself will be flattered rather than disturbed?

It's just such a thoughtless way of living your life.

RPF subjects finding the RPF! So, fun little fact, blurslash (and tumblr blogs I lurked on and can't remember the names of) were pretty aware of Graham Coxon having talked about the Blur slash fic Graham in Wonderland in an interview (and expressed that he didn't like it! I mean, it's bad, and it ends in a suicide, so.), and I think that was just on someone's personal website. I remember a certain amount of 'Graham don't read this' warnings, but I'm not seeing as many as I remembered.

But yeah, instagram, and at least formerly, twitter, being websites everyone uses where it's easy to stumble across things is such a messy thing to be dealing with, the barrier between famous people and regular people is so thin! Your own space can be the same space they're using. I don't think it's the end of the world, like, although personally I would love it if people were writing/drawing/etc. porn of me and I know that isn't universal.

I remember I uploaded a photo of a band member to pinterest (an account that I was using for school funnily enough, and then I just had a pinboard (is that what they're called) of sexy people) and his girlfriend pinned it, very strange feeling.
