Jun. 24th, 2019 01:46 pmThe drama with Helena's route in Love and Legends honestly reminds me of my brother throwing a weeks-long temper tantrum about how Aang didn't kill the Fire Lord.
Like, I know that you, somehow, thought that the natural end to this character's arc would have them killing the Big Bad. I don't know how you came to that conclusion, but you did, and now you're throwing a temper tantrum that the work didn't do what you wanted it to.
I mean, Helena's whole THING is that the Witch Queen groomed her into thinking that the only thing that she's good for is murder. She was abused and systematically broken down into thinking that she couldn't do anything besides that, that she fucked up and destroyed anything she touched because That's All She's Good For.
Having her violently murder the Witch Queen would've seemed really fucking out of place, and I'm saying this as someone who loves "destroy the evil abuser" fantasies.
Like, even if you didn't agree with the philosophical point they were making, one could at least tell where it was going to end up.
