This is a larger portion of a post I’m writing analyzing how swapping the genders of the JJBA cast would change canon. I decided to pull this one out because it was getting long and it could stand on its own pretty well.
Firstly, when genderbending/sexbending Jojo, one must deal with Josuke, Trish, and the Diolings! (great band name BTW). Canon could essentially coast along on the fact that most men are capable of fathering children without realizing it, but if we’re assuming Joseph, Dio, and Diavolo are women without this capacity, then shit gets interesting. Dio can coast on Weird Vampire Bullshit (jojoverse vampires are fucking weird, who’s to say that a cisfem!Dio couldn’t develop the capacity to impregnate cis women if she so desired?). Fem!Josuke’s existence has multiple hurdles to overcome, the first of which is menopause. Cursory research shows that the oldest mother to conceive naturally was 59 at the time, and Joseph(ine) would be 63. There is an argument to be made that canon has established that the Joestar bloodline has unusually potent sperm, and also we can fudge the timeline a bit to put Joseph(ine) in her late 50s. Now, the second hurdle. Why would she not either A: kill that thing Patrick, or B: just pretend that the baby was Suzie Q’s?
