My opinion on Kotoko is thus.

As a character she's absolutely perfect for a series like this and the themes that I think Milgram is playing with, about punishment and blame and responsibility and justice. I think that Milgram needed to have a character like her, a vigilante who passes punishment down on people based on limited information on their crimes, to go and look at the protagonists and go "How much can you condemn me, when you're doing the same thing? Am I not the same as you, the audience?"

As a person however, I hate her. I hate her entire shitty ideology whereby people can deserve to be punished and her judgement of the world is Right and can never be wrong ever because I have met people like her and I have wanted to throttle them just as much as I want to throttle her.

I also think her design is hot and she and Es maybe should go down hand in unlovable hand together.

watching that big mysme retrospective vidiya and on one had i can definitely see where the author's criticism of mysme's treatment of lgbt issues comes from, but on the other hand when it comes to issues of representation i have a habit of comparing works exclusively within genres and as mysme is an otoge that was not originally published in english it is very easy to look good next to a game that explicitly states that bisexuality and transgenderism is caused by csa so. yeah.
