I'm pretty sure the bugs in my hair aren't real, which is good, but the bad news is that they've migrated all over my face and onto my back, which is fun.

In A Scanner Darkly, a character picks off his hallucinatory bugs and puts them in a covered bottle, then realizes the bottle is empty. If you can see afterwards that there are no bugs in the bottle, would that help? (Sort of a variant of the “can you see it in a picture?” test.)

I've tried (I've basically been combing my hair over and over again the whole day and checking the comb for hellbugs/helleggs) but it doesn't seem to be working because they're entirely tactile- I'm not seeing them at all, I'm just feeling them and they keep coming back no matter how many times I inspect myself.
