I know that in RPF there isn't such a thing as OOC because we don't actually know these people, we only know their carefully constructed stage personas, yada yada yada, but every so often you run into a characterization that is so utterly baffling that you have to wonder, why? What was the author thinking?

For those interested in what provoked this post, a Jrocker was given "I want to have babies and be a happy homemaker but can't" as their sole defining character trait. Let's just say their stage persona is very...at odds with this.

I am a simple human. I see "Genderfluid Katsuki Yuuri" as a story's tags, I smash the kudos button.

Fandom-as-activism people are honestly such a trip. I just saw a Tumblr post that said that you couldn't call yourself an anti-capitalist if you read sugar daddy AUs.

I've been seeing the idea around Tumblr that at least in the USAmerican system, "gifted child" is basically a euphemism for "neurodivergent child who's neurodivergence isn't severe enough to justify putting them in special ed, but they can't function in a normal classroom environment".

This reminds me of a pamphlet I found on my mom's desk in elementary school, Signs of A Gifted Child or something like that, and one of the "signs" was an increased sensitivity to certain stimuli.

> These people are some of the only human beings I've ever seen who use "uwu" unironically.

> WHY IS EVERYONE SO OBSESSED WITH WRITING IN LOWERCASE

> There appear to be two distinct factions here. One is the "uwu pure bois" group who writes nothing but G-rated fluff, and the other group is really into the Nasty Shit.

> There's also faction three, who talk like the "uwu" types, but when you go to look at their profiles, it's all oviposition vore.

> Actually there's a lot of genfic here, which I was surprised by.

> Other fandoms really need to steal hybrid fics. I've seen some in Kuroko No Basuke, but not a lot.

> A shit-ton of sci-fi AUs, which I did not expect.

> There's also a specific characterization archetype that gets used here a lot, which I haven't seen in any other fandom, aside from Free! occasionally.

> That archetype is that of a very very very cute guy who is sexually promiscuous and perverted, with a great deal being made out of the contrast between these two traits.

> Some more traits of the archetype are that he usually (though not always) is sexually submissive, his partner is almost always male, and almost always sexually aroused by his cuteness and general pastel aesthetic.

> Jimin from BTS gets this characterization a lot, as does the guy who's name starts with B from EXO that I'm too lazy to look up.

> My brain has apparently decided that I'm into this.

> Blackjack is the best chatfic that I've read. Fight me on this.

> Not too much identity-politicking that I've seen so far, thank god.

Does anyone remember when there was this trend in slash fic where the Canon Female Love Interest would be SUPER DUPER OKAY with the main M/M pairing?

Even when the story involved cheating?

It was weird.

You know what I'd like to see more of in Omegaverse?

Omega/omega pairings and male omega/female alpha parings.

NOBODY SEEMS TO WRITE THEM AND I WOULD IF I DIDN'T HAVE THREE WIPS RIGHT ABOUT NOW

One thing I've noticed about Kpop fics is that they all share the same problem of having Too Many Goddamn Main Characters.

Seven to twelve main characters, all of which share the same amount of plot relevance and in-depth backstory, is just too many people for anyone to care about and keep track of.
