Fundamentally, there are two types of pairings that get called “toxic yaoi”. One of them is your standard abuse/hurt stuff where the toxicity exists within the bounds of the relationship, and like, the members of the relationship are the ones suffering. And then, there’s the other type of toxic yaoi where it’s like. These guys are wonderfully in love. They are thriving, personally. But not the people around them. The people around them are getting murdered and tortured and suffering. But the couple’s thriving! And they’re in love! And it’s good!

God, I love a murder couple (or a murder polycule, ofc). It's like, really sappy love love romance so often puts me off, but when the pairing in question are terrible people doing massive violence? It's essential.
Make goo-goo eyes at each other while snapping necks, make love in front of their torture victims, hold hands while ordering atrocities, bring each other's enemies all tied up in a bow as a present for their darling <3
