headcanoning/writing/truthing canon male characters as trans women is neither the Grand Anti-Patriarchal Antidote To Fandom Misogyny nor is it The Evil Crack Through Which Misogyny Will Grow And Poison Fandom Forever it is literally just a Fun Thing That Some People Do Because It Is Fun and the sooner everyone realizes this the sooner we can all move on with our lives and stop getting into stupid arguments

You are so correct and also this applies for a lot of things in fandom. We're not saving the world with the power of trans mentally ill half-Asian Sherlock Holmes in a poly relationship with Irene and Watson. We're just having fun here.

My approach toward fandom misogyny is that it's a reflection of misogyny in society at large, and also the misogyny in the work. It's more productive to push back against those than to fight with someone over their headcanons.
