I am currently awake at midnight trying to track down an sources for the “Metal Gear Solid 2 was the first game to say the word ‘bisexual’ claim” (there are none) and trying to find any possible leads to track down earlier possible usages (Phantasmagoria 2 and a few old indie games, at this point)

It feels like that surely can't be true, but I have no evidence to the contrary. I guess I'm playing VNs from the 90s until someone actually says the word.

Like, it can't be true. It can't. I managed to track down what I think is the original Tumblr post that started this off and the most definitive statement they made is "there is a non-zero chance" which is where I'm at now. But, the first time I went "hey, this can't be true" about another question like this (Birdo being the first transgender character in gaming), I did some research and now I'm like 90% confident that that statement is true, so I'm keeping an open mind.
